A Great Way to start the season!!

    The 37 Pennzoil racing team rolled into Flamboro Speedway with

      great expectations, after practicing 2 weeks ago the car was very

      fast!!  We were set and ready to go racing. David drew the 4th

      starting position, and this lined him up in the third spot in the first

      heat right behind Kenny Forth.

     

     The race went green to checkered and David ran all over Kenny's

     bumper but couldn't get the spot. Finishing second meant we would

     be starting 4th in the feature. The crew went over the car and we

     made a few adjustments to try and improve the car for the feature.

     The feature started off very slow for David he was stuck in the

       

     outside lane behind the #56 of Jeff Stuart and the 2 of them slowly

     started to get freight trained. By the time David got into line he

     dropped into the 8th position. But it was early in the race and the

     team knew there was lots of time to recover from the bad start.

     10 laps into the race #82 Jason Shaw got a flat tire and this moved

     David up a position, and that's when the action started to happen,

     #8 Paul Howse got into the leader Kenny Forth. This spun Kenny,

     and collected Paul. On the restart David lined up in the 5th position.

     3 laps later the 2 cars right in front of David got together and both

     went up the track. #56 and #44 of Steve Laking. Steve ended up

     hitting the wall exiting the track and this destroyed the front end of

     his car. They need a flat bed truck to get his car off the track!  With

     12 laps to go David found himself in the 3rd position behind the

     leader #89 Sean Chenoweth, and the #05 of Brad Corcoran.

    

     On the restart David couldn't stay on Sean's bumper and Brad got in

     front of David, and they ran this way till the checkered flag was

     thrown. Rounding out the top 5, 4th went to #3 Chris Bochsler, and

     Gary Elliott in the #36 Quaker State Impala finished 5th.  After the

     races we quoted David as saying " Its great to get good results when

     the car just isn't right, can't wait to see what we can do when we get

     this car going. I can't wait to get back out here and race again with

     the changes we to make.

     The team left opening night 3rd in points 1 point out of first!!

     The next race event is on May 21st at Flamboro Speedway, Racing

     starts at 6pm, Hope to see everyone there.
