David Elliott Racing Team Adjusts 2008 Racing Schedule

As David Elliott’s chances at a 2008 Late Model Title have been severely hindered due to a

mechanical failure on opening night and now a questionable scoring call by Flamboro

Speedway, the team has re-evaluated its 2008 racing schedule.

David said “That after hearing the news from the Speedway early Tuesday morning, the Team

decided, instead of running every weekend at Flamboro, David will run a limted Flamboro

schedule. We will also run at Sauble and Delaware Speedway.

“We’re in this to have fun, this is our hobby,” said David. “Based on the first three weeks of

this year’s schedule, we’ve decided not to burn ourselves out trying to win the title that is

realistically already out of reach.”

The team will take one weekend off each month to allow team members to spend time with their

families and the #37 Pennzoil Monte Carlo will make appearances at various sponsor locations.

“With a lack of promotion resulting in poor attendance at Flamboro Speedway, we feel we can

offer greater visibility for our sponsors by running a limited schedule and doing more

appearances,” said David.

The tentative schedule for the team is listed in the above link and we will also take off one additional

weekend in September.

David Elliott Wins first Feature in 2 years

David Elliott wins the feature and Heat on May 10th, but it isn't the way David and

his Crew wanted it to finish. The feature had lots of caution laps and went for about

an hour only running 16 laps. David led all 16. Coming off turn 4, David spun his

tires and got sideways, and contact was made between David and Jason Shaw

running second, David ended up crossing the line sideways and spun into the infield

just past the start finish line. There was another incident on the track at the same

time and the caution came out again and the race was called due to time. David was

upset thinking he had no chance to gain any of the spots he lost, but track officials

said that because the 37 Pennzoil Monte Carlo crossed the finish line in first and

didn't bring out the caution. The win went to David. Needless to say there were lots

of protests put in after the races, and David doesn't blame the other drivers one bit,

" This has never happened before and I'm pretty sure it won't happen again, I'm just

glad to be on the other end of a call." The race is still unofficial but as of right now

David Elliott racing Had a perfect night. Thanks mainly to the hard work and

determination of the crew. Ed, Marty , Brett, Dave C, Mike and Gordon did a great job

as usual.

Awesome job guys.
