A Bad wreck Ends Elliott's Points Chase

The night started out pretty good, the car's handling was good. We went

out for 2 sets of hot laps and then made our adjustments for Time trials.

We qualified 7th in time trials with a 19.288 and it was a heads up start

After taking the green, we moved into 6th place by the 2nd lap and the

top 7 cars pulled away from the rest of the field. by lap 8 we passed the

81 of Andrew Gresel and then the car started to feel a little loose entering

the turns. David decided to slow a bit in the turns to get the handling to

be more stable. But the 21 of Matt Printko wanted the spot more than

David, spinning him in the middle of turn 3-4 and not letting up till Elliott

was around and heading for the wall. David made contact with the left side

of the car bending a couple of rims. This was pretty minor for what was

about to take place. David came into the pits and made a sway bar

adjustment and restarted at the rear of the field. By lap 18 David was

battling for the 8th spot with a group of cars. The 72 of Shawn Thompson

pushed up and was getting passed by a number of cars. David came off

the turn high and was almost clear of him, when he heard the spotter say

car outside. David just started to move lower to give him room when his

car was turned abruptly to the right sending him straight into the outside

was half way down the back chute. This Ended David's Points Season at

Delaware. David Feels that Shawn could have backed out. David has given

a driver a spot, even if its close instead of wrecking their cars!!

The crew worked on the car. Removed the right front caliper. the brake line

broke and had to remove the sway bar because the frame was bent,

Replaced the broken Right front Spindle and took off the front bumper.

Duct tapped the fenders in place and David went out and finished the

2nd feature 2 laps down in 16th place!  Not bad for a tore up car with no

  front brakes.

The team is working hard on the car to get it ready for this weekend at

Sauble Speedway. The car will be on Display on This Saturday in

Thornbury at Clear Choice Pool & Spa, from 11am to 2pm. Hope to see

you there.  Racing this Sunday at Sauble Speedway a big 150 lap event

We hope to be back to 100% for the race.
