August 11th Last race of the Grisdale Triple Crown

It was a night of ups and downs. We started by hitting the wall in the warm ups, when the

car went into turn 1 the car  spun when David hit the brakes sending him backwards into

the wall. There was slight damage but the car seemed to be good for the heat. We started

4th in the first set of heats and won, after an incident on the first lap when we rode up the

wall for the second time of the evening. The crew worked on the car to repair the damage,

the car was good during the second heat, and we came home in third. We started 5th for

the 50 lap event, and by the third lap our lane didn't move and we dropped back to 7th.

During the first caution we were pulled over to check for a leak. It turned out that there

was fuel leaking from the over flow hose. The hose came loose from the first accident and

shifted over to the right and was causing a little fuel to leak out because the car was

overfilled. The track decided to give David 2 laps to see if it would clear up, David didn't

know they were going to black flag him after 2 laps or he would have pitted to fix the

problem. Sure enough 2 laps later they showed the #37 the black flag and ended the night

pre-mature for David Elliott Racing Team.

David and the crew were very upset that the track didn't handle the issue better by sending

him off the track to fix the problem first.

Next week were back to Flamboro, currently running 3rd in the points and looking to gain

ground on 2nd place Scott Lyons. Hope to see everyone there races start at 6:30
