Another great night with a poor
finish!!
You would think by now all the bad luck would be out of the #37 Pennzoil car. Sunday August 1st was the 150 lap feature at Sauble Speedway. We ran 2 sets of qualifying races, and we won both of them. The first one from the front row and the second from the rear of the field.
The car felt pretty good, so the team decided to leave the car and make changes at the 75 lap mark. They inverted the top 9, so we had to start 9th in the 24 car field. Just after the green flag dropped, David fell back 4-5 positions when he was stuck on the outside, when he got down and into position he was in 12th spot, David worked his way back into the top 10 by lap 20, when the first caution came out. During the caution, the car shut off. David couldn't get the the car restarted and had to get pushed off by the tow truck. when they got the car back in the pits, the crew worked hard to try and find the reason the car shut off. At first we thought it was the the coil, but after replacing it and the car still wouldn't start. We found the distributor rotor came off and broke the distributor cap in 4 pieces. By the time the car was fixed, We were 5 laps down and out of contention for the win. This ended our night. We're racing Flamboro Speedway for the Grisdale 75 lap event. Time trials start at 5:30, Hope to See you there.
